Yes, [info]rainyblueskies is alive! After a year of being "dead." I've decided to bring back this LJ. But what exactly did I bring it back for? For those who didn't know [info]rainyblueskies was originally my New Releases site, where it then migrated to a forum, and then it now resides on imitation.

Of course, to most of you, there was really no surprise that I would close down GIBBERISH. The site closed down earlier temporary and I took off my scans mostly everywhere. The thing is that don't give me bullshit about the whole "distribution for all" and "I'm too fucken high and mighty to let scans out." I scanned them, I can do whatever the hell I want! If you don't like it, don't even bother. Maybe some privilage people might get the scans, but other than that don't ask about them, even if you do, it's all going to be through one ear and out the other. Yes, harsh + a total BITCH, but like I said, I can do whatever I want.

Okay, so now to answer the question, "what is this site now?" It's going to be previews, previews, and more previews of licensed manga titles. I have a rather small manga collection and want to share the first few chapters with you guys ONLY to help encourage others to buy the series to support the mangaka and because you should be buying if you like it. I'm really a manga fanatic and want to share my collection.

Don't be surprise if you see me post some of my favorite titles floating around here that aren't scanned by me.

REMEMBER, IF I SCANNED THEM, THEN IT WILL ONLY BE PREVIEWS OF SELECTIVE CHAPTERS AND TITLES. NO COMPLETE SCANLATIONS OR WHOLE VOLUMES AND/OR SERIES.

Lol. I'm only limiting myself to buy at least 4 books a month. I hate it when everything is released so close together because it makes the decision a bit harder. I also hate it when there's no releases every other months. Urgh!! So frustrating, it's like you wait and wait, but then nothing worth to buy.

I was planning on going this week, but my car died. I'm bad luck with cars, and my dad even rub it in my face too. After I told him, he was just like, "You are NOT lucky!" Of course, my bad luck with cars strikes again. First my licensed plate was stolen, car died, car accident, car towed, bought a used car, had to repaint the side door--they missed a line, car was leaking oil--trade car w/my dad (so he can fixed it), now his car is dead. Ahh!! WTF?!

Enough of that, my choices, eventhough I will eventually get all of it, I'm going for four:

Black Sun, Silver Moon v2
Canon v2
Penguin Revolution v4
Mushishi v2
Nodame Cantabile v9-v10
Crimson Hero v6
Blade of the Immortal v16
Not Enough Time
I Hate You More than Anything

I'm also thinking of buying v1-6 of Kaze Hikaru too since that is the one series that I have been putting off for a while now.

---

Canon is a good story, a bit similar to Night of the Beasts, which is by the same mangaka. The only thing is, it's vampires, not demons. Like Night of the Beasts, the drawing is a bit old, I believe it was before NofB. I'll put up previews for it later.

Title aka: Kemonotachi no Yoru
Mangaka: Shiomi Chika
Genre: Horror, Romance, Shoujo, Supernatural
Length: 6 volumes (Complete)
Publisher: Go!Comi
Preview: Volume 01, p01-16
Scanned by: Go!Comi
Summary: High school tough girl Aria is notorious for taking on her school’s worst bullies. But punching out jerks is nothing compared to what happens when she finds herself inexplicably drawn to the demonically possessed Sakura, a guy who would as readily rip apart his own parents as seek her healing embrace. Sakura says Aria has the power to save him, but will she be able – or even willing to?

My notes: I prefer reading older titles than new one. I believe this title was in the late 90's. The drawing isn't those typical cliche series--which is a plus! I need some horror once in a while--though it's nothing scary, it's categorize as horror because it deals with demon, magic, and spirits.

Title aka: Kuro no Taiyou Gin no Tsuki
Mangaka: Maeda Tomo
Genre: Supernatural, Shounen ai
Length: 6 volumes (Complete)
Publisher: Go!Comi
Preview: Volume 01, p01-18
Scanned by: Go!Comi
Summary: Taki thought he knew exactly what he was getting into when he accepted a job at the church as an assistant -- and he was mostly right, although the job description hadn't mentioned dealing with zombies! When night falls, the mysterious priest Shikimi and his new assistant venture into the graveyard to destroy the newly risen dead. The enigmatic priest always seems to know when and where these creatures will appear, and as the days go on, Taki begins to suspect that the danger may also come from within...

My notes: I bought this because of the art, but kept on reading because of the storyline. I wanted to know what happens both in the past and what's in store for the two main characters. I didn't find out until after I bought it that it was shounen ai. I was reading it and was puzzled by the relationship--though it's very safe and you barely noticed it, but if you've read a lot of boy's love, you begin to wonder things. (also 'cause there was no female lead--yet). I also noticed the mangaka's name from Beyond my Touch, so I did a little search and found out that the title is shounen ai. (Which isn't a bad thing, because I have no problems with boy's love titles.)

Shortly after life emerged from the primordial ooze, these deadly creatures, mushi, came into terrifying being. And they still exist and wreak havoc in the world today. Ginko, a young man with a sardonic smile, has the knowledge and skill to save those plagued by mushi . . . perhaps.

Manwhaga: Lee Si Young
Genre: Drama, Sci-fi
Length: 1 volumes (?)
Publisher: Ice Kunion
Preview: Volume 01, Story 3, page 57-76
Scanned by: Me
Summary: This book contains three separate unusual stories in alternate realities. First story, “Martian’s Earth Conquest” tells a tale of a person who is coping with a lost of someone special. Second tale, “Is it really not possible?”, makes you wonder if a man and a woman can truly be just friends. And the last of the three, “Sci-Fi”, is a sad tale about a girl who hates robots and a humanoid who serves her. The creator, who believes that the best privilege artists get is to “Lie”, creates a whole new world beyond your imagination. Still, even though these tales are from different worlds, the topic has great sense of reality, and the readers are guaranteed to be able to closely relate to them. That is one of the strongest powers of the creator, who is one of the most well-known Manhwa artists of Korea. Start a journey to the world only she can create.

My notes: I thought the stories were a bit weird, but interesting.

Summary: Did you know that an antique possesses a soul of its own? The Antique Gift Shop specializes in such items that charm and captivate the buyers that they are destined to belong to. Guided by a mysterious and charismatic shopkeeper, the enchanted relics lead their new owners on a journey into the alternate cosmic universe to their true destinies. Eerily bittersweet and dolefully melancholy, the Antique Gift Shop opens up a portal to a world where torn lovers unite, broken friendships are mended, and regrets are resolved. Do you believe?

My Notes: The story revolves around the store owner, Bun-Nye, of the Antique Shop and her only employee, Yang. Each chapter of the series have their own storyline, though at the same time, hinting the nature and past of both Yang and Bun-Nye. Bun-Nye's grandmother told her that she can live her life as she wanted to as long as she sells everything in the Antique Shop, but there is another reason why she must sell them all..
